Residents Help Shape the Future of Vero Lake Estates
Residents of Vero Lake Estates are taking a more active role in shaping the future of their community through the newly formed Vero Lake Estates Municipal Service Taxing Unit Advisory Committee. Made up of seven property owners from within the MSTU, the committee gives residents a direct opportunity to provide input on capital projects, budgets and future infrastructure priorities. At its first meeting on July 23, members met with Public Works staff to discuss community needs, future improvements and the potential benefits of a community-wide assessment.
The committee will help strengthen the connection between neighborhood priorities and the County’s planning process, ensuring local voices are part of the conversation as future projects are considered. Progress is also continuing on Fire Station 15, where the former modular station has been removed and a new temporary modular station is opening while plans for a permanent brick-and-mortar facility move toward the bidding phase.
These efforts are an important step toward supporting the long-term needs of Vero Lake Estates while keeping residents involved in the decisions that affect their neighborhood. The advisory committee’s next meeting is scheduled for October 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the County Commission Chamber.
