County lifts evacuation orders for Salem, Hatch, Garfield and Placitas; Rincon remains evacuated
Doña Ana County lifted the evacuation orders for residents and visitors in Salem, Hatch, Garfield, Placitas Tuesday night, as storms have passed and additional large volumes of rain are not forecasted.
The evacuation order remains in effect for Rincon. Residents in Rincon who evacuated should not return home at this time due to the dangers of standing floodwaters. Conditions in the area remain unsafe, and residents should continue to follow evacuation instructions from emergency officials.
Residents returning to areas where evacuation orders have been lifted are urged to use caution. Flooding, debris, damaged roads and other hazards may remain.
Residents should:

Avoid driving through flooded roadways or around barricades.

Stay away from damaged bridges, roads, drainage channels and other hazardous areas.

Use caution around standing water, debris and areas that may have been damaged by flooding.

Continue monitoring official Doña Ana County and local emergency management updates for changing conditions.
Residents in Rincon should remain evacuated until officials determine it is safe to return. The Radium Springs Community Center remains open.
