Community Listening Sessions 2027 Land Preservation, Park and Recreation Plan

Westminster, MD, Tuesday, September 22, 2026 – The Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks will host two Community Listening Sessions to gather public input for the 2027 update to Carroll County’s Land Preservation, Park and Recreation Plan. The current plan can be reviewed here:

Sessions will be held as follows:

  • Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 7 PM to 8 PM at the Eldersburg Library Branch, 6400 W Hemlock Dr., Sykesville

  • Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 7 PM to 8 PM at the North Carroll Library Branch, 2255 Hanover Pike, Hampstead

These sessions provide an opportunity for residents to share their ideas, priorities, and suggestions regarding future parks, recreation, and open space needs in Carroll County.

The Land Preservation, Park and Recreation Plan is updated every 5 years and serves as a strategic guide for identifying long-term needs and priorities related to park development, recreational programming, and open space acquisition. Insights gathered through this planning process help inform land acquisition and capital investment decisions within Carroll County’s Community Investment Program (CIP).
