Community Invited to 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony

Westminster, MD, Wednesday, August 26, 2026 – On Friday, September 11, 2026, county representatives will gather at the Carroll County Public Safety Training Center (PSTC), 50 Kate Wagner Road, Westminster at 8:30 a.m. to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The solemn ceremony will be held in front of the 9/11 Memorial at the PSTC, which displays a steel beam recovered from Ground Zero at the World Trade Center site. This annual event serves as a time of reflection, unity, and remembrance for the sacrifices made by first responders, civilians, and military personnel on that tragic day, and in the years that followed.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend the outdoor ceremony, and uniformed personnel are respectfully requested to wear Class A uniforms, or an appropriate equivalent, as a mark of honor and respect.

The event will be recorded and available for viewing on the county Facebook page and the county YouTube channel.
