Public Invited to Participate in Community Development Hearings
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – In a continued effort to enhance citizen participation, Cumberland County Community Development (CCCD) has made available for review and comment a draft of the Program Year (PY) 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan (AAP) & Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER).
The AAP and CAPER will discuss the program and projects for the upcoming year. The CAPER provides information about Cumberland County’s use of the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Act grant funds during PY 2025-2026 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026). This allows the County an opportunity to evaluate its overall progress in carrying out the priorities and specific objectives identified in Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
All residents are encouraged to review the document and offer comments during the review period from Aug. 31- Sept. 20, 2026. Residents may contact their local town hall for hours of operation to view a draft copy. The draft copy of the CAPER will also be available for review on Community Development webpage on the Cumberland County website at www.cumberlandcountync.gov/communitydevelopment.
The final version of the CAPER, as submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will be available at the Cumberland County Clerk’s office, located on the fifth floor of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse at 117 Dick St. in Fayetteville. The final version of the CAPER will also be available at the Community Development office, located at 707 Executive Place, Fayetteville, and online after Sept. 30 on the County’s website at www.cumberlandcountync.gov/communitydevelopment.
